Monoblock vs Multi-Piece vs 3-Piece Forged Wheels
Three forging constructions, three design tradeoffs. What each means for weight, width freedom, cost and repair.

Forged wheels are usually offered in three constructions: monoblock (one piece), two-piece (barrel + face) and three-piece (barrel + two faces or barrel + face + lip). The choice changes what you can build and what it costs.
Monoblock forged
One piece of forged aluminum. Lightest for a given strength, simplest structure, best for street and track where weight and stiffness lead. Width and offset freedom is limited by the die and the one-piece blank.
Multi-piece / two-piece
A forged face joined to a barrel. More width and offset flexibility than monoblock, at a small weight cost. A common choice for aggressive street and show fitments.
Three-piece
Barrel, outer lip and face assembled with fasteners. Maximum width, offset and finish freedom — the most customizable construction, and the one where a true custom build makes sense.
Weight and stiffness favor monoblock. Width and finish freedom favor multi-piece. There is no "best" construction — only the right one for the target build.
